Most sites have a standard recognised mailname called Postmaster to which queries may be sent about mail problems concerning that site. This can be useful if, for example, the site sends an incomprehensible error message or when an apparently correctly addressed mail message is repeatedly rejected by that site. If there is no directory available for the site, some Postmasters will help with finding the correct mail name for a particular user. Last Updated 18 Aug 2000.
